Analyze your artist stats and analytics

Look up any artist, not just yourself: monthly listeners, followers, streams, popularity, the playlists behind their growth and where their listeners are, recorded every day.

As preached by

From Search to Insight

  1. Search any artist in the box above, or paste their Spotify link. Signed or unsigned, famous or brand new, yours or someone else’s.
  2. Start on the Overview for the big picture: their playlists, how those playlists are moving, monthly listeners and where their listeners are.
  3. Open the Charts to see every stat as it was recorded, day by day.
  4. Drill into tracks and playlists to find what’s driving the growth, and whether it’s real.
  5. Save the artist to a folder to follow them, and turn on bot detection alerts for the artists you work with.

To see how an artist compares with the biggest names, check the top artists on Spotify by monthly listeners.

What Artist Stats You Can Check

Every artist page opens on the same Overview:

  • Playlist Summary: how many playlists added the artist, how many of those are high-risk, the playlists’ combined follower reach, and an estimate of how many listeners come from playlists.
  • Playlist Movement: the last 30 days of playlist adds and removals, and the latest of each.
  • Monthly listeners, charted with the daily gains and losses.
  • Top Audiences: the cities their listeners are in, as reported by Spotify.
  • Discography, biography and metadata, in one place.

It’s the same view for a new signing, a collaborator, a competitor or yourself.

Every Stat, Charted Daily

artist.tools records every metric for every artist it tracks once a day, so each one becomes a chart you can read like a timeline:

  • For the artist: monthly listeners, total streams, followers, popularity, playlist adds and playlist reach.
  • For each track: streams, popularity, playlist adds, playlist reach, Shazams and TikToks.

Line a chart up with the day a playlist added the song or a video took off, and you can see exactly what moved the numbers. Spotify’s 0–100 popularity score is charted too, so you can watch it climb before a release peaks. Free accounts see a recent window of each chart; any paid plan unlocks the full history and chart downloads.

The Playlists Behind the Numbers

Most new listeners reach an artist through playlists, so the Playlists tab lists every playlist carrying their music, editorial and independent, with each one’s followers, reach and quality.

Sort them to find the placements that matter, and spot the ones that don’t: a big add that drove nothing, or a playlist the artist was quietly removed from. For one song at a time, track analytics goes deeper.

Press Coverage and Google Rankings

Streams are only part of an artist’s story. Each artist page also has a Press tab, with the articles and blogs that mention them and how well known each site is, and an SEO tab, with the Google searches the artist ranks for.

That’s the context Spotify can’t show you: whether a spike came from a feature in a big publication, or whether people are searching for the artist by name. See press mentions and Google rankings.

Spot Fake Growth Early

Not every jump in listeners is real. artist.tools rates every playlist carrying an artist’s music for bot risk, and the Playlist Summary counts the high-risk adds, so you can tell real growth from growth bought on botted playlists.

For your own artists, bot detection alerts tell you when a high-risk playlist adds their music, so you can act before it costs royalties or a takedown. Alerts are on paid plans; see artificial streaming for how the risk is judged.

Why Spotify Matters?

Spotify is the biggest music streaming service, and its playlists and algorithm decide how most new listeners find an artist. A track that does well on the right playlists can be picked up by Release Radar, Discover Weekly and radio, and an artist’s monthly listeners follow.

That’s why an artist’s Spotify stats are the clearest early sign of where their career is heading, and why labels, managers and A&R teams check them first.

Why Spotify for Artists and Spotify Analytics isn’t enough

Spotify for Artists, like Apple Music for Artists and the other streaming services’ dashboards, only shows the artists you manage. It’s the place to pitch your music and see your own listeners in detail, but it can’t show you anyone else, and it leaves out the context behind your own numbers.
